IT'S A LOVE/ LOVE THING

Image
Lucy and Dolly love to play when they are outside. Outside Happy April everyone! It's late afternoon here, about 70 degrees! The dogs and I have been enjoying being outside, down at the back of the property. As We walked back there a herd of deer pointed their tails in the air and flew like the wind.  We have a small section of woods that surrounds our house so we can meander in and out of it. Hubby Roger is not too fond of clean up. He is a habitat lover for all the deer, birds and other wildlife that visits us so would rather we just LET BE! I took my camera with me and snapped a few photos to include in this posting. I do love how the late afternoon sun adds a filtered look to my photos. I am still trying to get focused pictures!! Of course it doesn't help that I take my photos with one hand because I have Dolly on the lead with the other. She's a runner and can't be trusted to be free like Lucy. I took Lucy t

FIVE BLESSINGS

Image
Hi there, it's raining on my patch today. Roger had a dentist appointment, then an injection in his knee and then did the grocery shopping. I stayed home in front of the fireplace tucked into my cozy chair with 2 dogs and a cat as chair mates.  Roger has very good luck with orchids. Blessing #1: Spring has arrived! Our snow is gone. Hurray!  Our first crocuses and violets  of the season  covering our front yard have sprung up and opened up to the sunshine we had for a few days with warm temps in the 50's and 60's.   Clumps of daffodils are appearing around the lamp post out front and along the walkway to the front door. Oh, it is so nice to see these first harpingers of Spring! Blessing #2. White tailed deer gather on the back side of the property waiting for some corn. Blessing #3: Beautiful wildlife. I am still in Pennsylvania. My mother seems to be doing very well right now so I don't hav

ANOTHER DAY CLOSER TO SPRING!

FIVE BLESSINGS

Good morning! The sun is shining today! Blessing #1.   Oqunquit, Maine I love the snow but I love the beach more. Today I wouldn't mind breathing in the salty invigorating sea air at my favorite beach. Thank goodness March is almost over and our furnace is still working. Blessing #2. We've had so much trouble with it. I do worry even when I try not to but I am a silent fretter. I tell you this story to illustrate that not everything is hunky dory in my life. My little furbaby, Lucybelle, has had a bump on her belly. Roger assured me that it was only a fatty cyst. I felt it right after I arrived home from Maine. For all those who don't know I am major care-giving plus POD for my soon to be 92 year old mother who lives on the "Island" in Maine. I spend a good deal of my time there. But I digress. Lucy's bump drove me crazy but I tried not to explode at hubby for not taking her to the vet. He KNEW from my mannerisms that I was w

SHADES

I am so ready for Spring!  Bright colors, warmer days, sunshine, the music birds make, green grass,  fresh air without the bite of freezing cold on my face and hands as I walk  the dogs on our daily jaunt around the property. We have had warmer temps, rain and wind for several days so most of our snow is gone here in Bethlehem.  There's not a lot going on here. Just mundane things like dentist appointments, car repairs, funace problems again, stomach virus, vet appointment for Lucy's stomach bump. Today Roger is back at the garage for an inspection on his truck. Hopefully, it will pass without the problems of his jeep when he had to have work done on the gas tank. Better days must be coming! I am a bit depressed I think today. I feel overwhelmed with all that I have to do before I can leave to go back up to Maine and deal with all that goes on there. I have been quite lazy the past few weeks and now I have a house to clean (we no longer have a cleaning lady, thanks to hubby) an

IF WE HAD NO WINTER SPRING WOULDN'T BE SO PLEASANT

Snowdrops MUTTERINGS Hi there! So glad you could stop by. It's a gloomy day on my patch. Hubby and I are plugging along here. I am in week 2 of "No News is Good News" meaning I have sworn off listening to the News for the next month. It has all gotten a bit much lately  with politics in our country. Instead I have been concentrating  on the good...despite the bad. Yesterday Roger had  very expensive repairs done to his 2005 jeep. Last week I had 2 crowns fitted at the dentist. The week before the furnace had major repairs. You get the  picture. What do you do when money seems to be evaporating?  You economize!  You eat comfort foods! You watch funny movies! That was my plan for when hubby came back from the garage. Ham and bean soup, cheesy Keto skillet biscuits, and cream cheese pound cake. It doesn't get much more comforting than that, especially on a cold winter's night.  We received a very generous gift card to Amazon for Christmas and we use
