HAPPINESS IN EVERY DAY LIVING

Image
Hello bloggy friends! This week I feel like concentrating  on how grateful I am for cooler temperatures and lovely weather.  I am content here at home in Bethlehem despite what is going on in in our weary country. The new normal isn't normal at all, is it? I read today that according to the CDC,  the majority of new  virus cases is among young people. I worry about my two granddaughters on college campuses. We are all worried about something. Praying about something that is on our minds or hardships we are experiencing. Happiness and contentment are relative to what we are going through right now. Or is it?  Is it possible to feel that despite our losses we are winners?  Yes, I do believe that.   MY EXPERIENCES But to get back to finding contentment and happiness in everyday living. Someone said happiness isn't a destination, it's a habit. We have to work at it.  Having said that, here is a little illustration.  Yesterday was just one of many really awesome weather days w

TIME MARCHES ON

Domestic Bliss Hello there dear bloggy friends! It's Saturday.  I hope this week has been a good one for you and that the next week will be even better. My week has been okay. I have been having a lot of trouble with my eyes. I have Macular Degeneration and my eyes for the past few months have been wonky, at least the left one has. My retina doctor decided to change meds so this past Wednesday I had my first injection with the new medication. I do think it is better but I haven't driven yet so that will be the test.  He wants me to go to my regular ophthalmologist to have my vision tested to update my glasses. It's been 3 years. I didn't realize it had been that long!  *** I went up to the Poconos on Monday and visited with my daughter and grandboys. Judi and I went out to lunch. We drove to Wilkes Barre and ate at Cracker Barrel. I can't say that the food was that great because they are operating on a reduced menu and the Rib Eye Steak wasn't on the menu anymor

RIDING THE WAVES UNTIL A SUNNY DAY

Political Games (Barf)     What we need... We need Him to calm the waters!  I can only liken what is happening in our country  to being out in a bad storm at sea. We are in desperate need of some calmness, balance, and common sense in our nation so we can regain our equilibrium (sanity). We need a good Anchor. I, for one,   will be glad to see the backside of the political mess of 2020. Rant over.😉 The Fires My heart is with those of you who are experiencing or seeing first hand the devastation of the fires. Those of you who are worried about the quality of air you are breathing, your families, your homes, the landscape and the wildlife. Our own worries, frettings, and inconveniences pale in the light of what you are living every second of every day. May God give you courage and the strength to endure.💖 He calmed the storm to a whisper. (Psalm 107) Memories My mother, who is 93, takes more and more trips down memory lane  as we talk each night on the phone. Last night she was recalli

MONOCACY PARK

Hello dear bloggy friends! I hope that you are enjoying the waning days of Summer. Labor Day was yesterday so I guess it's time to pack away the light and bright Summer colors. Our air conditioning has been turned off for two days and the windows and doors are open. The first time since I returned home in June.   I woke up yesterday feeling refreshed and happy.    I really think that the lack of heat and humidity had something to do with it.😊 Roger and I decided to take separate cars to the diner in Hellertown, for breakfast, about 5 minutes or so away. He had errands in another direction.  After breakfast I headed to Monocacy Park for a stroll and to take pictures and afterwards I was going to stop at a friend's house. The park is old and is a part of a trailway that starts in Chapman and  meanders 20 miles or so through the slatebelt area in the Lehigh Valley and western Northampton counties. I live in Northampton county. It ends up in the Lehigh River in Allentown, just nex
