A DAY FULL OF NOTHING

Image
Hello dear friends! How ARE you? I hope that you are enjoying Spring as much as we are here on the coast of Maine. The warmer temps are so refreshing. And, I must say those cold roaring winds won't be missed either.  Well, so let's see,  my life has been busier then usual lately. First of all I think our squirrel problem might be finally solved! I had a carpenter come in to do some much needed repairs upstairs. The good news is... no squirrels upstairs lately. Phew. I thought I would never see the light at the end of that tunnel. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ  Pansies are one of Mom's favorite flowers and they are now in the nurseries. A big pot of them are just what the doctor ordered to keep her happy.  Speaking of Mom...in a few days she will be 94 years old! She is enjoying the fuss the family is showering on her with cards and gifts arriving in the mail. I bought her several summer dresses online but only one has arrived so far. But it doesn't

NO EXPECTATIONS

🌸When one's expectations are reduced to zero, one really appreciates what one has. (Stephen Hawking)🌸 The Cove. We live just over the hill. It’s famous for beautiful sunsets. 🌸🌸🌸 Hello there lovely people. Thank you for stopping by. I hope that with the arrival of Spring your world is becoming more colorful. Sadly I can only report that mud season has arrived here.  New birds are showing up at my feeders so that is encouraging. My first robin! (He looks a little rough around the edges. I wonder how far he had to travel to get here.) The next few days we are supposed to be getting temps in the 50’s! I am planning on starting the process of sorting through boxes I brought down from upstairs, about 20 of them so far. The squirrels have made an awful mess up there. I have had no luck catching the last one that seems to be smarter than the rest. I haven’t heard him today though. I wonder where he is. If I do catch him I am going to take him across the bridge and hopefully our paths

DO YOU BELIEVE?

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit." 1 Peter 1:18 ❤Hello dear bloggy friends! I hope you are well and reasonably content.❤ I haven’t left the house since I last posted other than to feed the birds and the deer. I am still battling red squirrels. I have a carpenter coming to check around and do some work upstairs.   Looking back through my photos to see what I haven't posted lately I came up with these: I find that I have more birds at my feeders now that Spring is here. Mr and Mrs Hairy woodpecker being new arrivals. The Juncoes have pretty much disappeared and the red winged blackbirds are here but I haven’t been able to capture them. I am happy to report that I finally finished my two doilies (they need to be blocked) and have moved on to a wip: a blanket of many colors needing the strings on the ends of the rows woven in. A job I dislike. After t

A HIDDEN GEM

🌸Here comes the sun and I say, it's all right!🌸 The Beatles Scott's Island 🌸🌸🌸 Hello there bloggy friends! It was a lovely day here. There’s only a small clump of ice left to melt at the back of the house. Today our temperature was 55 degrees F. Sunday was so gorgeous that I took a drive to a spot that I never go to. It’s very close by and I could have walked but it’s a up and down hills type of walk. A dead end to a cove where only Summer residents live. A few lobster fishermen have moorings for boats there. The reason I decided to go up to “the Mash" (Mainese for Marsh) is because the ocean was flat calm. It has a lovely view up there of Scott’s  Island. Do you remember reading any of Robert McCloskey’s  books when you or your children were young?  MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS, BLUEBERRIES FOR SAL, HOMER PRICE, and several others. His last book was BURT DOW, DEEP WATER MAN and was about a man from Deer Isle, published in 1963. He was an illustrator and artist also. Well,
