HOOKY LOVE


Hi there, It's a rainy and windy day here so I am glad that I took the time yesterday to photograph my snowflake throws that I started some months ago but put aside for the summer. Last week I marathon hooked until they were finished. I haven't blocked or pressed so this is the way they came off the hooks but I am happy with them and I think they will add a colorful flavor to my Christmas decorating. 

If your are interested in the pattern I took it from a great blog called....Betsy Makes. It is under her posting done last November. I made mine using a size H hook and Caron Simply Soft Party yarn. It has the shimmer or glittery silver threads spun into the yarn to make the snow flakes pop.  

 I added my own finishing ideas with joining and the borders. The green has a ruffle and the red has a row of bpdc and fpdc as well as a small ruffle.

Hello there wherever you are! A little update from the person who has a very boring existence these days. Well, I guess I left off with the sale of my parents house and the divviing up of the proceeds to various family members. That open a whole lot of friction with lawyers involved. That took time and the buyers had construction workers due to start work on the house. They extended the closing date by 10 days and I was sweating bullets on the last day but it happened and is behind me now.   Once that was over with we scheduled to have a whole house generator. Electricians, and excavators were scheduled but because of backlogs we didn’t see anyone until after Christmas. We are in a valley and we have to drive up to our road. A ditch had to be dug from our house to the road. The power company had to replace a pole and run new lines up at the road. Trees had to be cut down and huge boulders taken out of the ditch. RAINY DAY MUSINGS

  Hello dear bloggy friends! Another rainy blog of musings. I hope you don’t mind. So, what am I doing on this dark, rainy day? I am reliving nostalgia…of a youth wasted on a picturesque island on the coast of Maine.  I can remember buying my first record player in my teens. I don’t know what it was.  My younger brother was the music buff in the family. I had no time. I was working or reading. School. No dating though. Fast forward to today.     About a year or so ago I was introduced via YouTube to the BEE GEES! I love love love this group.  A  musical 🎶 treasure I missed out on in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s!!! How did I miss SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER?? Yes, I know my world was warped. Working while the world turned. Until I retired there was very little down time for me and when there was I read. Love to read. BEING GOOD TO ME

  Hello and thank you for stopping by! It’s raining here, has been for days and the rivers and streams are in overdrive with massive flooding. I hope that you are okay wherever you are. As for me I am a bit stressed these days so have retreated to knitting and writing. I feel somewhat better when I put myself first. I know that might sound selfish but I need to prioritize in my mind what comes first…having a heart attack or taking a break from life. Just joking. I think many of you reading this have developed coping mechanisms and strategies for dealing psychologically with life issues and unpleasant situations. I have dealt with horrible life circumstances by retreating into myself. I have suffered my whole life with social anxiety and a lack of self confidence. I hide it well but lately it is manifesting itself again. I rather think I am my mother’s child after all. My father had lots of self confidence and an extremely outgoing personality.
