ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL

Image
Happy days to you!  Hello dear bloggy friends. I fear the title of this post might be a misnomer. However I didn't want to call it All things blah and dismal. Spring beauty is trying very hard to shine through but has a long way to go. I noticed yesterday that there are a few dandelions blooming, some forsythia budding and a few daffodils. So maybe I should have called it All things yellow and beautiful. Anyway... An archive photo of bright and beautiful will have to do.  What's on my mind I do have some bloggy administration stuff to discuss with you today! First of all, Blogger informed me that come July those of you who "subscribe"  to have my posts sent to you via email ( through  FeedBurner) will not have that option. They are discontinuing that service. When I started this blog 6 or 7 years ago I did not install the "Follower" gadget. I started it mainly as a journal for myself and my family and close friends. But, sadly, few of them seem interested in...

A DAY FULL OF NOTHING

Image
Hello dear friends! How ARE you? I hope that you are enjoying Spring as much as we are here on the coast of Maine. The warmer temps are so refreshing. And, I must say those cold roaring winds won't be missed either.  Well, so let's see,  my life has been busier then usual lately. First of all I think our squirrel problem might be finally solved! I had a carpenter come in to do some much needed repairs upstairs. The good news is... no squirrels upstairs lately. Phew. I thought I would never see the light at the end of that tunnel. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ  Pansies are one of Mom's favorite flowers and they are now in the nurseries. A big pot of them are just what the doctor ordered to keep her happy.  Speaking of Mom...in a few days she will be 94 years old! She is enjoying the fuss the family is showering on her with cards and gifts arriving in the mail. I bought her several summer dresses online but only one has arrived so far. But it...

NO EXPECTATIONS

🌸When one's expectations are reduced to zero, one really appreciates what one has. (Stephen Hawking)🌸 The Cove. We live just over the hill. It’s famous for beautiful sunsets. 🌸🌸🌸 Hello there lovely people. Thank you for stopping by. I hope that with the arrival of Spring your world is becoming more colorful. Sadly I can only report that mud season has arrived here.  New birds are showing up at my feeders so that is encouraging. My first robin! (He looks a little rough around the edges. I wonder how far he had to travel to get here.) The next few days we are supposed to be getting temps in the 50’s! I am planning on starting the process of sorting through boxes I brought down from upstairs, about 20 of them so far. The squirrels have made an awful mess up there. I have had no luck catching the last one that seems to be smarter than the rest. I haven’t heard him today though. I wonder where he is. If I do catch him I am going to take him across the bridge and hopefully our paths...

DO YOU BELIEVE?

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit." 1 Peter 1:18 ❤Hello dear bloggy friends! I hope you are well and reasonably content.❤ I haven’t left the house since I last posted other than to feed the birds and the deer. I am still battling red squirrels. I have a carpenter coming to check around and do some work upstairs.   Looking back through my photos to see what I haven't posted lately I came up with these: I find that I have more birds at my feeders now that Spring is here. Mr and Mrs Hairy woodpecker being new arrivals. The Juncoes have pretty much disappeared and the red winged blackbirds are here but I haven’t been able to capture them. I am happy to report that I finally finished my two doilies (they need to be blocked) and have moved on to a wip: a blanket of many colors needing the strings on the ends of the rows woven in. A job I dislike. After t...
