Hi there! It's been a long time since we chatted! Hope all is well with you and yours.  I am still spending time on the Island with my Mom. She is not dealing very well with my Dad being in the Island Nursing Home-even though it has been well over a year now. Since I live in PA and she lives in ME it's not easy being her POA and Caregiver. Oh, well, it is what it is, right?

There are definately perks to living this life style. One being the terrrific sunsets we have on Little Deer Isle nearly every day that we see the sun. Some are more spectacular then others.  This one was taken about 2 weeks ago. Here is another view of it. On a different day.

About a month ago we had three snow storms in the course of one week in Maine.  I did get a few pictures before the last one was over, from inside the house. The winds were fierce!

You can see that the snow was piling up in front of my little camper that I used to stay in during the summer before my Dad got ill. The winds blustered the snow around and the plow had a very hard time getting through it all after the storm was over about 12 hours after this picture was taken!! ( I didn't get an end picture. I was so sick of the snow by that time I had no inclination to document it any further.)

Strangely but happily two weeks after the storms and a very mild spell plus lots of rain we had hardly any of it left. So, I was more inclined to go out with my camera and I took these on my way home to PA a week ago.

Bucksport, Maine. Those are ice cakes floating down the river and that's the Narrows Bridge in the background. To the right is Fort Knox..  Yes, those ARE ice cakes  floating down the Bagaduce River. It was an overcast day and I ran into rain as the day progressed and the temps became warmer the further south I got.

This interesting house was across the street from where I was standing to take the previous picture. A very lovely restored Victorian by the looks of it.

I arrived home to lovely temps (70s) especially considering that it was in the low 20s  when I left the Island 12 hours earlier. However, I brought the cold and snow with me because 2 days later we had snow all day and it was also in the 20s.

These Cardinals are waiting their turn at our bird feeders in the backyard. We have about 15 feeds here and there around the house. Roger fills them not me.

Lucy, my lovable mutt, was so happy to see me that she hasn't left my side.
