Springtime in Maine Part II Hi there again! So happy you have stopped by. This blog posting is really a continuation of my last posting, SPRING TIME IN MAINE. The pictures shown are taken on and  around the Island (aka Little Deer Isle) that is located off the coast of mid Maine and is accessible by a long expansion bridge. When you go onto the Island you hit a small island called Little Deer Isle. My parents live there in a little cove with a foot path to the shore. I have a camper/travel trailor on their property that I stay in when I am visiting. This is what I see when I look out my big window of my abode.... It was once a nice working shack but is now just a shack. The neighbor has a garden fenced in to protect the fruits of their labor from the deer, raccoons and other critters. Across the cove you will see 2 islands, one behind the other. In the summer the second island, the one with the sandy beach.,  has a lovely large sailboat moored there most days. I do kno

GOBSMACKED "Letting go of resistance and stepping into acceptance, as you do with preparation, is a secret of contentment."  I once read this and it resurfaced to the forefront of my memory this week. When Spring showed up in all her Splendor I could hardly hold back my enthusiasm for getting out of the house and actually doing something that required activity on my part. At first I raked and filled wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow with the leaves we didn't get around to in the Fall. Dumping them on the compost pile at the back of the property. Then on to pruning roses, raspberries, butterfly bushes and the list goes on until I developed an allergic reaction to some form of weed or bramble and had to move on to landscaping with rocks. Not little ones, oh no, the chunky white ones that our neighbor was giving away to whoever would cart them away. Roger decided that was us. This picture shows one area that we put them. BACK BREAKING WORK.  TH

RE-CREATION Isn't this Star Magnolia beautiful! A tree without leaves just flowers. We have several more that are wowing us out of a stark early Spring setting. Along with the daffodils, tulips and forsythia bushes.   I have been missing in action for awhile now and my posts before that were sporatic. All due to computer problems. I am happy to report that is in the past. My son-in-law has changed us over from our horrid old desktop to a laptop and now I am over the top happy.    It is wonderful to get outside to work on the clean up around the property and to breathe in the Spring freshness of the air. We are having warm window and doors open type of days but cool nights. It is also therapeutic after the loss of 2 of our beloved dogs in the space of a month. Lucy, the youngest seems to be adjusting now to not having her buddy, Mysti, around. She and I are buddies, never far from wherever I am. She stays on the property while I am outside working so I don't

HAPpy SPrinG! IT MAY NOT SEEM VERY SpriNGY WHERE YOU ARE, in fact it might still be cold and bleak looking and there may be still some of the white stuff around. What bliss to see the back end of what was a long cold Winter. But here in eastern Pennsylvania Spring has definitely sprung. In fact,  I have already started the outside clean up even though Roger reminded me that last year it snowed on April 15th.  LIFE GOES ON There have been birthdays celebrated. A granddaughter turned 13 and a grandson turns 11 tomorrow.  Happy anniversary to me.... I have an anniversary this month-a blogiversary. I have one year of blogging under my belt. In the beginning I said I would give it a try for a year. And despite not getting many comments or feed back, Blogger stats show that I have had over 200 readers a month visit me here with a total of over 3000 for the year as well as many hits on Google +.  While that may not seem like a lot, I am happy with it. I feel like

NUBBLE LIGHT  CAPE NEDDICK, MAINE WE NEED TO FEEL BAD BEFORE WE CAN FEEL BETTER It's raining today, it's making inroads in the snow throughout the dog yard where Roger has shoveled pathways all Winter for the dogs. Mysti We are down to one dog now. Our little Chloe (see picture on left sideline) went to doggy heaven in December and Mysti joined her this week. We have Lucy Lucy who is acting lost without Mysti; not eating, staring at me with sad eyes, and searching around the dog yard for her. They were pals in everything. Roger is taking Mysti's loss hard also but time will allow us to move beyond our grief and get on with living. But right now its really like losing a child.  Another happening this week....I was involved in a car accident a couple of days ago when a lady backed out of her driveway in front of me. We were driving down a hill with a stop sign at the bottom so I was not driving very fast. I scraped the whole side of my

GOOD MORNING TO YOU....showing you HOOKY love today Hi there! It's a cold one here, -6 as I write this on a sunny Thursday in the last week of February. I know that I am not posting as often as I used to when I first started this blog about a year ago now. I am having a real problem uploading pictures to the blog and I can't seem to figure out how to correct the problem. I have spent many hours trying to no avail. This morning is no different but I am in hopes of having someone come in soon who has more expertise in computer technology than I do. In the meantime I have switched over to my Kindle Fire in the hope it's not a Blogger problem but a computer one. First of all it's been a busy month hooky wise. I have managed a bunch of finishes. Mostly hearts in one shape or another. I did a bunch of them to make into a bunting to string up in the family room. The hearts are made but the bunting will have to wait until next year in time for Valentine decorations.
